The other day I read an interview where TALIA CHETRIT said that your photos are a mystery to her at first sight. Well, I confess that for me too! With enough use of negative and positive inversions, black and white, horizontal and vertical, Talia gets a result challenging, playful and obscure. Instigating is the definition. Although often the vision be disorienting (with appearance derived from psychological and personal experiences), Chetrit's work refers to freedom at its most democratic. It is clear the ode to the body and sexuality. And if on the one hand, the artist presents explicit nudity, on the other she keeps the images as they should be, without handle with digital artifices.
Emotional freedom also defines the work of Talia. Not just in the abstract images, but also in those of bodily expressions overflowing feelings. Your photos are dense, provocative. Mysterious! In fact, it would be a mistake to say that are just pictures, when they go beyond that: are flagrant emotional climaxes. Is curiosity: are they made for shock value and instigate the laity in the work of the author, or just expressing how complex can be the human mind? Each person, in accordance with their sensitivity and understanding of the work, will have a different answer for these questions. As Nietzsche said in his "Antichrist", I contend that the work of Talia Chetrit was made for "free spirits, because only these to understand".
